KACHIDO FAQ'S
We use a combination of Shotokan (this style is based off long range and explosive speed attacks and blocks) and Goju-ryu (this style uses close styled attacks and blocks and the hard-soft balance of tension and breathing).
By blending these styles, we offer a "hybrid build" that is unique in the martial arts world, which is designed for mastery, discipline and practical self defence. We believe that with synergy and movement both styles combined only adds to your martial arts journey.

Kachi Do is committed to the belief that karate is a lifelong journey of improvement.
Our classes are designed to accommodate students from age 5 to 65 and beyond.
Regardless of your age or physical capabilities, our experienced instructors tailor the training to meet your individual needs, ensuring a safe, engaging, and effective learning environment.
For your first karate session at Kachi Do, all you need to bring is yourself and a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
We recommend wearing comfortable gym clothes, such as a T-shirt and track pants, to allow ease of movement during training.
There’s no need to worry about karate uniforms (Gi) for now—once you decide to join officially, we’ll guide you through everything related to Gi’s and other gear.
We’re excited to welcome you to our family martial arts community and help you get started on your journey to excellence!

Kachi Do keeps class sizes small to ensure that each student receives focused and personalized attention from the Sensei.
This approach enhances learning by allowing more tailored instruction, immediate feedback, and stronger student-instructor connections.
Small classes foster a supportive environment where students can progress confidently and develop their skills effectively, reflecting Kachi Do’s commitment to family martial arts excellence.
At Kachi Do, we recommend attending at least 2 classes a week to steadily build your skills and muscle memory. We do understand that our busy lives can become problematic, so you do you, if you can only do 1 class a week you are still moving forward.
While you can train as often as you like, consistent practice is key to making significant progress in karate.
The more you train, the faster your techniques will become natural and refined, helping you achieve martial arts excellence as part of our family-oriented learning environment.
Regular attendance ensures you develop the strength, coordination, and discipline that define Kachi Do’s approach to karate training.
Classes start from a minimum of $12, making martial arts training accessible for families seeking quality instruction.
The pricing can vary depending on several factors, including how many family members train with us and the number of classes attended per week.
We strive to offer flexible options to accommodate different needs and encourage consistent practice.
Unlike other clubs that charge astronomical fees due to high overhead costs such as studio setup and maintenance, Kachi Do prides itself on offering affordable rates without compromising on the excellence of our training.
Our focus is on delivering family-friendly martial arts education while keeping costs reasonable.
Kachi Do does not have direct debit payments. What we have found is that gyms and other clubs who have direct debit actually charge you more compared to what you actually use. So, we prefer to ensure you only pay for each session or in advance via our pre-paid option.
This makes it easy because if you miss a class, you don't have to pay for it.
We also have pre-paid options if you wish to pay in advance, most people pay casually to start with then move on to pre-paid when settled in.
This helps you keep up with your training and enjoy the benefits of regular martial arts practice.
Whilst it would be nice having a place to call home, we use community halls to allow us to have multiple locations also the big factor is cost. Clubs with studios have very high prices because of their overheads like rent and or commercial building insurance.
By using community halls, we can keep the cost down to families who are already struggling with rising life /sport costs.
Some clubs will have really low joining fees but once you are in the door the training fees are very inflated due to the running costs of their own studio's.
From my experience with training in Japan, the Japanese use a lot of school gymnasiums for training, so if it's good for them why not us.
